- Develop, maintain, and debug firmware for a Teensy 4.x-based system
- Build and manage real-time tasks using FreeRTOS
- Control and monitor hardware such as valves, sensors, and actuators
- Implement communication between the firmware and host software (serial/UART, SPI, I2C)
- Add logging and live debugging so the firmware state can be inspected in real time
- Test on real hardware and in simulation mode, and document the work
- Use Git with clear commits and code reviews
Qualifications:
- 0–3 years of embedded firmware experience (strong project or internship work counts)
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
- Hands-on experience with Teensy 4.x (or similar ARM Cortex-M boards) and FreeRTOS
- Solid grasp of electronics fundamentals, including reading schematics, using a multimeter, oscilloscope, or logic analyzer, and working with GPIO, ADC, PWM, and timers
- Experience with Git
- Reliable, present, and curious; comfortable working with hardware on-site and accepting an essential role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with medical, biomedical, or safety-critical devices
- Familiarity with signal processing or sensor data acquisition
- Basic Python or C# for testing and tooling
- Comfort with unit testing and simulation
