About the Role USPS is hiring an Electronic Technician to apply advanced technical knowledge to diagnose, maintain, and overhaul electronic systems across mail processing, customer service and building equipment. This role supports the operation of state-of-the-art equipment as part of USPS modernization efforts.
What You'll Do
- Perform complex testing, diagnosis and maintenance of electronically operated equipment or systems.
- Locate source of malfunctions to ensure maximum system performance.
- Perform equipment inspections to assess quality of service or maintenance received.
- Recommend improvements to servicing and maintenance activities and analyze equipment failures to ensure proper degree of equipment maintenance.
What We're Looking For
- Advanced technical knowledge and hands-on experience with diagnostic, preventative maintenance, alignment and calibration and overhaul tasks on hardware and software for mail processing, customer service, and building equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electronic equipment; strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical and electronic operating mechanisms of equipment; ability to observe and test systems to locate malfunctions.
