Job title: Electro Mechanic
About the Role The Electro Mechanic is responsible for the scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection of plant equipment. You will inspect equipment for defects, determine the best repair approach to minimize production interruption, and plan detailed procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation.
What You'll Do
- Inspect plant equipment for defects and determine repair approach to minimize production interruption.
- Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, lubricate, and adjust equipment; operate simple machine tools.
- Erect scaffolds, perform rigging and safety barriers; interpret drawings and plans; select materials and tools; operate mechanical lifting devices.
- Lay out work, prepare surfaces for welding, set up and assemble fixtures, perform brazing and welding; clean and finish parts as required.
- Set up and operate pipe bending, threading, cut-off equipment; fabricate and install pipe for gas and liquid transport; set up sheet metal fabricating equipment; fabricate and install ductwork for HVAC.
- Perform rough or finished carpentry, install prefabricated wood and metal parts, glazing as required; dismantle roofing and siding.
- Operate and maintain mechanical equipment (air compressors, emergency generators, ventilating equipment, pumps, HVAC units); prepare surfaces for painting and apply coatings; utilize company vehicle for maintenance.
- Analyze drawings and wiring diagrams to locate and install circuits and equipment; troubleshoot electrical problems and determine material needs; work safely with proper circuit isolation.
- Plan and perform work requiring knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specifications, codes, materials, and operation of equipment; locate trouble sources in motors, generators, power distribution, control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, and electronic devices; reassemble, test, and adjust for safe operation.
- Perform work on hot lines as required; replace coils, resistors, relays, adjust contactors and bus rigging; reconnect terminal leads and distribution feeders; install conduit, switches, and wiring for new installations or replacements; make splices and connector joints.
- Possess knowledge of programmable controllers and PLC logic relays; employees working with hazardous wastes receive proper training and follow management practices for hazardous wastes.
- Maintain safety, operate within the schedule for 2nd shift (3 PM–11:30 PM), and perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of industrial equipment; ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and drawings.
- Proficiency with tools and methods for welding, brazing, machining, pipe fabrication, sheet metal work, ductwork, carpentry, and painting.
- Knowledge of motors, generators, power distribution, control panels, circuit breakers, relays, rectifiers, and electronic devices; ability to set up and troubleshoot PLCs and programmable controllers.
- Strong safety mindset; able to work in hazardous areas and on hot lines; willingness to work on second shift and autonomously when required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to use company vehicle for maintenance tasks.

- Hazardous waste handling training or qualification and familiarity with proper waste management practices.
