About the Role
An electrician performs electrical maintenance, installation and repair work across production and mining equipment at assigned locations. The role supports plant operations by ensuring electrical systems meet safety and performance standards.
What You'll Do
- Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
- Read and work from blueprints and drawings for installation, repair and maintenance of plant and quarry electrical equipment
- Install, adjust and maintain electrical equipment, gauges and instruments
- Troubleshoot and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications
- Ensure manufacturer standards of repair and maintenance are followed
- Repair and troubleshoot circuits, wiring, motors, starters, controllers, generators, switchboards, dynamotors, etc.
- Take motors apart, rewind, clean, paint, lubricate, and assemble; perform point and brush replacements and adjust commutator and slip rings
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
- What We're Looking For
- 5 years electrical maintenance experience; 3 years in aggregate, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred
- Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4,160 volts
- Programmable logic control (PLC) and digital drive experience
- High school graduate; associate degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance preferred
- Able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual a plus
- Computer literate; familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP experience a plus
- Excellent communication, attention to detail; strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, reports and instructions; able to read mechanical, electrical and structural sketches, blueprints and drawings
- Electrical troubleshooting skills with motor control circuits and relay logic
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work as part of a team or independently
- Good mathematical/mechanical aptitude
