Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Electrician to maintain our electrical systems, production machinery, workshop equipment, and facility electrical installations.

Job Description The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the company's factory, workshop, warehouse, and office facilities. The successful candidate should have strong practical electrical skills and be able to quickly identify and resolve electrical faults while maintaining strict safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Maintenance:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, sockets, switches, lighting, distribution boards, and other electrical systems.
  • Carry out routine inspection and preventive maintenance of electrical installations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment to safe working condition.
  • Install and maintain electrical connections for production machinery and workshop equipment.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of motors, control panels, sensors, switches, and other electrical components.
  • Carry out electrical repairs in the factory, workshop, the warehouse, office, and other company facilities.
  • Ensure electrical systems are properly installed, maintained, and safely operated.

Production Machinery:

  • Provide electrical support for machinery such as cutting machines, edge-banding machines, sanding machines, compressors, welding equipment, CNC equipment, and other production machinery.
  • Diagnose electrical faults affecting production equipment.
  • Carry out basic testing and replacement of faulty electrical components.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Officer and Production Team to minimize machine downtime.
  • Assist with machinery installation, relocation, and commissioning where required.

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Develop and follow scheduled electrical maintenance routines.
  • Inspect electrical equipment regularly and identify potential problems before breakdowns occur.
  • Maintain records of electrical inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Recommend replacement or upgrading of outdated or faulty electrical components.
  • Maintain an appropriate stock of essential electrical spare parts and consumables.

Safety:

  • Follow all electrical safety procedures and applicable workplace safety standards.
  • Ensure electrical installations and equipment are properly isolated before carrying out repairs.
  • Use appropriate testing equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Identify and report electrical hazards immediately.
  • Ensure electrical panels, cables, and equipment are properly labelled and safely maintained.
  • Support the company in maintaining a safe workshop and production environment.

Requirements

  • OND/HND or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience as an electrician.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, factory, furniture, construction, or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong practical knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with industrial machinery and electrical control systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to read basic electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of motors, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, sensors, switches, and control panels.
  • Ability to use electrical testing tools such as multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly to electrical faults and breakdowns.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a workshop/manufacturing environment.
