About the Role Electrical Technician at Georgia-Pacific Lumber facility in Albany, GA. You will perform maintenance on production equipment to support safe, continuous lumber production, leveraging automation and electrical systems. What You'll Do
- Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines and participate in safety program.
- Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Use experience to identify and implement improvements.
- Work with automation, production, and computer systems.
- Research parts in electrical/mechanical manuals and submit order forms.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment to ensure production continuity and efficiency.
- Respond to operator, quality, or supervisor requests on equipment specifications.
- Assist operators or crew with machine start-up, shutdown, or cleanup.
- Document daily work and machine conditions via written and verbal reports. What We're Looking For
- Experience with industrial controls PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electrical distribution.
- Experience with industrial instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature.
- Ability to read and follow electrical and mechanical schematics/blueprints.
- Associates degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, or Electronic Technology and at least two years of electrical/electronic and/or related experience. Nice to Have
