At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As an Electrical Technician, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life-saving technologies - by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future.

The role: As an Electrical Technician, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Carrying out electrical maintenance activities to ensure the safe, compliant and reliable operation of production equipment, utilities and site infrastructure.
  • Installing, testing, inspecting and repairing electrical systems and equipment across the Brimsdown site.
  • Diagnosing faults, identifying root causes of breakdowns and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance activities and supporting continuous equipment reliability improvements.
  • Recording maintenance activities using SAP CMMS and identifying required spare parts for repairs.
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance, including adherence to Life Saving Policies and engineering standards.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Completed a recognised electrical maintenance apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Hold 18th Edition City & Guilds 2382 certification and experience in electrical isolation, testing and inspection.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience working within an industrial manufacturing or process environment, ideally in a shift-based role.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, protective devices and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork and attention to detail.

Even if you only match some of the skills, we’d love to hear from you to discuss further!
