Job Title: Electrical Technician - Assembly Locations: Benin - Edo and Lagos
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our Assembly Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of generator sets and associated electrical systems, ensuring all units meet required technical and quality standards before delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical assembly and wiring of generator sets and associated components.
- Install and connect control panels, alternators, batteries, sensors, controllers, and other electrical components.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Perform electrical testing, inspection, and troubleshooting during the assembly process.
- Identify and rectify wiring errors, electrical faults, and defective components.
- Conduct functional testing and support the commissioning of completed generator sets.
- Ensure all electrical connections, components, and installations meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Work closely with Mechanical Technicians and other Assembly team members to ensure proper integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Maintain proper tools, equipment, and work areas in line with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Complete assembly and inspection records and report technical issues to the supervisor.
- Follow all HSE procedures and company standards during assembly and testing activities.
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical assembly, generator assembly, industrial electrical installation, or a similar environment.
- Practical experience with generator electrical systems, control panels, alternators, batteries, and wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and testing procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production timelines.
