The role is a 3rd shift electrical technician focusing on reading schematics and PLC programs, panel assembly/wiring, and on-site troubleshooting to support manufacturing operations in Connecticut.

What You'll Do

  • Read and interpret schematics and PLC programs (Allen Bradley preferred)
  • Assemble and wire new control panels per NEC and engineering instructions
  • Use voltmeter, ammeter, oscilloscope for troubleshooting; draw schematics
  • Possess knowledge of photoelectric sensors, proximity sensors, hall effect sensors, reed switches, actuators and mechanical switches; determine correct output sinking or sourcing
  • Recordkeeping, excellent communication skills and ability to analyze problems simply
  • Operate power tools and possess soldering skills
  • Use and understand PC DOS and Windows; understand serial, Ethernet and LAN communications
  • Work to a height of 40 feet above ground on occasion
  • Operate forklifts, man lifts, cherry pickers and other industrial vehicles
  • Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution and Lighting Circuits (DC to 500V, AC to 480V) and NEC practices (wire sizing, fusing, safeties, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Emergency Stop, grounding)
  • Knowledge of relay control circuits, including ladder logic and latching circuits, and able to troubleshoot
  • Be a team player committed to a quality environment; communicate effectively with other departments, organizations, and leadership; be on-call for emergencies; overtime and weekend work required

What We're Looking For

  • Electrical Technical School Graduate or Trade/Military equivalent
  • Five (5) year minimum trade experience
  • Current State of Connecticut E2 License or above
  • Ability to work in a quality-focused environment and collaborate across teams
  • Overtime and weekend work required; on-call for emergencies
  • Willingness to operate at heights and around industrial vehicles as needed
  • Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution, NEC, and safety practices including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Emergency Stop circuits
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain relay control circuits and ladder logic

Nice to Have

  • Allen-Bradley PLC experience (preferred)
  • Servo drive knowledge; DC Servo preferred (not required)
  • Familiarity with ladder logic and latching circuits beyond the basics described above
