About the Role Join Linde as an Electrical Specialist in Theodore, AL to identify, develop, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems across multiple facilities. You will maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution equipment up to 138 kV, including substations, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, protective relays, and battery/UPS systems, and you will perform predictive maintenance to ensure reliability. This role combines field and office work, requiring independent technical decisions, weather-exposed access, and domestic travel ~20% with off-hours availability.
What You'll Do
- Identify, develop, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems across multiple facilities.
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment, including substations, breakers, switchgear, motor control centers, protective relay systems, battery/UPS, and transformers up to 138 kV.
- Handle induction and synchronous motors up to 40,000 horsepower and 15 kV with precision, safety, and disciplined procedures.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, lead, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with established standards.
- Engage in predictive maintenance activities such as infrared thermography, transformer oil analysis, partial discharge analysis, and power quality analysis.
- Work independently in both office and field environments, access elevated equipment in all weather conditions, and travel domestically approximately 20% with availability during off-hours.
What We're Looking For
- An electrical professional holding an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology or at least five years of experience maintaining medium voltage electrical systems in an industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience as a field service engineer, representative, technician, electrician, power distribution technician, or project manager supporting industrial electrical maintenance.
- Deep knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methods for industrial electrical systems and equipment and the ability to communicate clearly while collaborating effectively with teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with discipline, achieve results with minimal supervision, and utilize computers and standard software packages such as Microsoft Office with confidence; familiarity with Infor Enterprise Asset Management (CMMS).
- Additionally preferred qualifications include a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology or two years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician in an industrial environment, along with proven capability in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of medium voltage electrical systems and equipment. Understanding of regulatory and industrial standards, codes, control and instrumentation, and CMMS tools (Infor EAM) is a plus.
