About this role

Electrical Site Manager (m/f/d)

Mission

Plan and manage on-site electrical installation and commissioning activities for automation and robotics systems, from site preparation through to customer handover. Lead and coordinate commissioning of PLC-based control systems (e.g. Siemens, Beckhoff TwinCAT/TwinSAFE) and industrial robots (e.g. FANUC, KUKA, ABB) in line with project schedules. Supervise and coordinate electrical subcontractors and partner companies on site, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule commitments are met. Act as the customer's on-site point of contact, managing expectations, reporting progress, and resolving technical and organizational issues as they arise. Ensure all installations meet applicable European machinery and electrical safety regulations, and coordinate the required functional and safety checks and certifications prior to handover. Oversee risk assessments and functional safety validation e.g. SISTEMA, ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061 for machinery and safety-related control systems. Manage site documentation: as-built records, test protocols, CE marking documentation, and technical files required for customer sign-off. Identify and escalate technical risks, deviations, and change requests, working closely with project management and engineering teams. Support punch-list resolution, final acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), and ramp-up support after go-live. Enforce site safety rules and ensure compliance with customer-specific HSE requirements at all times.

Profile Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a comparable field (or equivalent professional experience). Several years of hands-on experience in electrical installation and commissioning of industrial automation and robotics systems. Strong practical background with PLC systems (e.g. Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT) and industrial robot integration and commissioning e.g. FANUC, KUKA, ABB). Very good working knowledge of the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the required conformity assessment and certification processes for machinery placed on the European market; familiarity with the incoming Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, which applies from 20 January 2027, is an advantage. Solid understanding of the relevant European regulatory and standards landscape, including CE marking, the Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, and functional safety standards (ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061, EN ISO 12100). Prior experience managing or coordinating subcontractors/partner companies on industrial sites. Experience working with or for automotive OEMs and/or aerospace manufacturing is highly valued. Valid driving license (Class B) — required. Willingness and ability to travel extensively and on short notice to customer sites across Europe — required. Fluent English required; German and/or French are a strong plus.
