Job title: Electrical Product Engineer
About the Role Prevost, a division of Volvo Canada Inc., is seeking an Electrical Product Engineer for its Ste-Claire plant. The engineer will own and contribute to the development of electrical product systems, guide the design, ensure technical integrity, and serve as the internal reference for electrical solutions. The role includes supporting manufacturing, development, and field service, and driving continuous technology leadership.
What You'll Do
- Take technical ownership of electrical systems and ensure compliance.
- Define technical requirements and collaborate with suppliers for optimal integration.
- Oversee design, validation, and testing of electrical components.
- Lead technical teams and support development and production.
- Participate in plant-level integration and service issue resolution.
- Keep up with technology trends and act as internal reference for electrical solutions.
- Assess risks and propose solutions to meet project objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Active member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- Experience in product development, design of electrical distribution systems (low and high voltage), and electrical harness design in the automotive sector.
- Technical knowledge of automotive electrical components (connectors, wiring, fuses, batteries), standards (ISO, SAE), automotive regulations (F/CMVSS), risk analysis and reliability (FMEA, HARA).
- Strong writing skills for specs, test plans, and technical reports.
- Excellent command of French and English (spoken and written).
