Electrical Motors & Cable Engineer

About the Role The Electrical Motors & Cable Engineer provides technical support related to electrical motors and low/medium voltage cables. The role focuses on day-to-day operations and maintaining related programs to ensure reliable plant performance. What You'll Do

• Provide technical information concerning motor and cable program performance requirements, bases, compliance status, and related industry operating experience to support site Engineering, Operations and Maintenance.
• Identify potential problems through condition-based monitoring of program equipment and PM optimization through feedback from Maintenance personnel and component PM reviews.
• Develop, plan and coordinate special projects, corrective action plans, and improvement programs to address component problems or regulatory sensitive issues.
• Support Maintenance and Operations in component troubleshooting and provide component/discipline expertise for troubleshooting significant events or complex plant problems.
• Support changes in assigned component configuration/design and associated design basis. Serve on outage engineering support teams.
• Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform required group functions. Ensure fleet lessons are learned and good practices implemented.
• Review motor test data (250 hp – 9000 hp), management of large motor population and spares, and development of Critical Procurement plans for motors being repaired, refurbished, or rewound, and support factory acceptance testing of motors.
• Management of electrical cable reliability program for low Voltage and Medium Voltage cables, review of electrical cable testing data, and support of factory acceptance testing for large cable purchases. What We're Looking For
• A B.S. in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations OR equivalent work experience.
• 0-2 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent depending upon engineering/technical specialist level.
• Good to excellent communication skills. Experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level. Nice to Have
• SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR.
• Professional Engineering license.
