Electrical Mechanical Maintenance - A Shift
Position Summary The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance (EMM) Technician supports safe, reliable manufacturing operations by independently troubleshooting, repairing, and monitoring electrical and mechanical equipment. This role is responsible for the initial maintenance response, application of documented troubleshooting methods, coordinates escalation when needed, and developing the technical capability of other employees through hands-on training.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical equipment failures using approved procedures, documented checklists, schematics, technical manuals, test equipment, and available process data.

Perform safe, timely equipment maintenance and verify equipment condition following repairs.

Conduct proactive and post-repair monitoring through plant data systems to confirm sustained equipment performance and identify recurring issues.

Manage the troubleshooting response, communicate findings clearly, and escalate unresolved or higher-risk conditions to shift A&T personnel or Engineering.

Complete accurate work history, findings, checklist results, and follow-up needs in the Maximo maintenance system.

Provide on-the-job training to Level 1 employees, new technicians, and employees developing EMM or mechanical maintenance skills.

Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, A&T, and Engineering to restore equipment safely and efficiently.

Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with all plant safety procedures, electrical-safety requirements, and applicable work practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Internal Candidates
-
Two-year technical degree; or
-
Four years of relevant technical experience; or
-
Current enrollment in a three-year apprenticeship program.

Ability to complete certification to the department electrical checklist within one year of placement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-
Demonstrated electrical and mechanical troubleshooting aptitude in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Ability to work independently on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting activities and recognize when escalation is required.

Ability to read and interpret maintenance procedures, checklists, equipment documentation, electrical drawings, and mechanical diagrams.

Proficiency using computerized maintenance and data systems, including Maximo or a comparable system.

Clear verbal and written communication, disciplined documentation, and effective teamwork.

Ability to coach others, share technical knowledge, and use maintenance events as learning opportunities.

Sound judgment, structured problem-solving, diligence, and a strong commitment to safe work.

The range for this position is $31.50 hourly rate - $35.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
