Job title: Electrical Installer / Electrician

About the Role Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, is a global leader in data center equipment manufacturing. We are seeking an electrician/electrical installer to support electrical installation, maintenance and repair at our Edmonton region facilities, and to provide technical guidance to apprentices in accordance with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) legislation.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications to plan and carry out electrical installation, maintenance and repair work.
  • Provide technical guidance, oversight and verification of apprentice work in accordance with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) legislation.
  • Install, terminate and test conduit systems, cables, electrical equipment, panels, sensors and control devices in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Construct and fabricate electrical control panels and systems, including rough-in and final wiring of control circuits.
  • Install interlocking wiring and complete wiring inspection and checkout procedures to verify correct operation.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, vendor manuals and assembly and installation instructions.
  • Lead and perform electrical work.

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications to plan electrical installation, maintenance and repair work.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and oversight for apprentice work under Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) legislation.
  • Experience installing, terminating and testing conduit systems, cables, electrical equipment, panels, sensors and control devices in compliance with codes and standards.
  • Experience constructing and fabricating electrical control panels and systems, including rough-in and final wiring of control circuits.
  • Experience installing interlocking wiring and performing wiring inspection and checkout procedures.
  • Ability to follow manufacturer specifications, vendor manuals and installation instructions.
