We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment and systems within the plant.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in production machinery, control panels, motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical installations.
• Ensure the availability and reliability of electrical systems supporting steel production operations.
• Inspect electrical equipment regularly and identify potential faults before they result in equipment failure or production downtime.
• Supervise electrical technicians and contractors during maintenance, installation, and repair activities.
• Install, test, commission, and maintain electrical equipment and systems in accordance with approved specifications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motor control circuits, MCCs, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, control panels, and automation systems.
• Monitor and maintain power distribution systems, including transformers, generators, switchgear, circuit breakers, and distribution boards.
• Support the maintenance and operation of electrical systems for rolling mills, furnaces, compressors, cranes, welding equipment, pumps, ovens, conveyors, and other production machinery, as applicable.
• Participate in equipment installation, plant modification, expansion, and electrical upgrade projects.
• Prepare electrical drawings, maintenance records, reports, and technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical faults, repairs, spare parts usage, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Identify recurring electrical problems and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Liaise with the Production and Maintenance teams to schedule electrical maintenance activities while minimizing disruption to production.
• Ensure adequate availability of critical electrical spare parts and communicate requirements to the relevant department.
• Monitor electrical energy consumption and identify opportunities for improved energy efficiency.
• Conduct electrical inspections and ensure that electrical installations are properly maintained and safely operated.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, company procedures, and HSE requirements.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox meetings, safety inspections, and incident investigations where required.
• Ensure proper implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other electrical safety procedures before maintenance activities.
• Support statutory inspections, audits, and other regulatory requirements relating to electrical installations.
• Provide technical guidance and training to electrical technicians and other relevant employees.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure that electrical work areas are kept clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform any other engineering duties assigned by Management.
