Section: About the Role The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and supervising electrical systems and installations for building and construction projects.
Section: Key Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate and supervise electrical systems and installations for building and construction projects.
- Prepare, review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
- Design and supervise installation of power distribution, lighting, earthing and electrical systems.
- Carry out electrical load calculations, cable sizing and equipment selection.
- Supervise installation of electrical panels, cables, switchgear, generators, transformers and related equipment.
- Coordinate electrical works with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC teams.
- Conduct electrical inspections, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning.
- Supervise electrical contractors, technicians and subcontractors on project sites.
- Monitor project progress, materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
- Identify electrical faults and technical issues and provide effective engineering solutions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, project specifications and HSE requirements.
- Prepare site reports, material schedules, technical documentation and as-built drawings.
- Support project planning, cost control and timely completion of electrical works.
Section: Requirements
- B.Eng./HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, building services or construction.
- Experience in building construction, commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, lighting, earthing, protection and control systems.
- Experience with generators, transformers, electrical panels and low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM and electrical design software is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience in site supervision, testing, and commissioning.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
