Electrical Engineer

About the Role

A hands-on Electrical Engineer to design, build, test, and support LED-based lighting products for machine vision applications. This role owns hardware design from concept through production release and collaborates with mechanical, software, optical, test, and manufacturing teams to bring innovative LED lighting products to life.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, test, and support LED-based lighting products for machine vision applications

• Own hardware design from concept through production release; collaborate with mechanical, software, optical, test, and manufacturing teams

• Design analog and digital circuits, including LED drivers, power conversion, signal conditioning, and control interfaces

• Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium, Eagle, or KiCad with focus on signal integrity, thermal performance, and EMC best practices

• Make thoughtful, well-documented technical decisions around component selection, circuit architecture, and testing strategies while balancing lifecycle, availability, and cost

• Apply thermal analysis and thermal management techniques for high-output LED systems

• Develop BOMs, work instructions, and supporting documentation for new and revised products to enable smooth path to manufacturing

• What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience considered

• 4+ years of relevant electrical hardware design experience preferred

• Experience with electrical hardware design, PCBA layout, design for manufacturability, cost, and performance

• Working knowledge of LED technology, LED drivers, power electronics, thermal management, and electronic components

• Ability to use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, DMMs, and thermal imaging tools

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills

• This is a contract position; will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group

• Compensation & Benefits

• Pay rate: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year (note: contract positions are paid hourly by iMPact)

• Benefits (medical, dental & vision) available after 90 days
