Electrical Engineer (Flex, Bahamas)

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to collaborate with our U.S.-based client on solar and renewable energy projects. This is a flexible opportunity: you’ll work certain days and hours each week depending on project workload.

What you will do
- Design solar energy systems for residential projects, using the electrical plans and roof plans provided by the client as your starting point.
- Determine the best panel layout and installation approach, considering the home’s electrical load (e.g., number of TVs, air conditioning units, and other devices) and the number of rooms.
- Bring creative problem-solving to each project to define how the system will be installed in the most efficient way.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings and documentation associated with solar installations.
- Prepare project quotes using the client’s existing Excel template (training will be provided).
- Track and update project information in Smartsheet.
- Coordinate technically with designers and other professionals involved in each project.
- Work autonomously and manage your availability according to the team’s workload.
What you'll need to know
- A background in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with electrical drawings and documentation.
- Experience with solar/photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- Experience working on residential (multifamily) projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own priorities.
- Ability to coordinate technically with designers and other professionals.
- Flexible availability to adapt to varying workloads.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
A great plus
- Experience with solar system design and PV systems.
- Experience with microgrids.
- Experience with Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
- Experience on renewable energy projects.
- Experience preparing quotes or cost estimates.
- Experience with HelioScope.
- Experience using Smartsheet.
