About the Role Motorola Solutions’ Video Devices Engineering team is shaping the future of the security industry through end-to-end solutions. We are seeking an enthusiastic electronics designer who excels at problem solving and wants to contribute to AI-based surveillance systems and safer communities. What You'll Do
- Develop innovative products alongside mechanical, firmware, purchasing and testing teams
- Design high-speed digital and power supply circuits including component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation
- Test, characterize, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic PCBAs and systems
- Rapid prototyping and testing of new circuit ideas using workbench tools and test equipment
- Design and test for EMC and safety regulatory compliance
- Support production and products in the field
- Create and maintain PCB design files, JIRA tickets, design and test documentation, and bills of materials What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in electronic design or validation
- Hands-on skills including soldering, prototyping and using test equipment
- Pragmatic approach to problem solving with ability to improvise
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and able to learn quickly and work well within a team environment
- Bachelor's Degree
- Based in Vancouver, BC; ability to work in the office 2-5 days per week as projects require
