About this role

Eskom Electrical Apprenticeships 2026

Eskom is recruiting 5 Electrical Apprentices for its three-year training programme in the Northern Cape. Applicants with N3 Electrical Engineering, N2 Electrical or qualifying Grade 12 subjects can apply before 13 November 2026.

Eskom Electrical Apprenticeships 2026

Eskom is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for five Electrical Apprentice positions within its Distribution Division. The opportunities form part of a three-year apprenticeship training programme aimed at developing technical skills and preparing successful candidates for careers in the electrical engineering and energy sectors.

The positions are based in the Northern Cape under Eskom’s GEMMA Cluster, with placements available at Colesberg CNC, Carnarvon CNC, De Aar CNC, Petrusville CNC and Kimberley PPM.

Successful candidates will receive a combination of institutional training and practical, on-the-job experience. The programme is designed to provide apprentices with the technical knowledge and workplace exposure required to develop their electrical trade skills, with an opportunity to attain a Trade Test Certificate.

Candidates who meet the minimum educational requirements and demonstrate a strong interest in electrical engineering are encouraged to apply before the closing date.

The Eskom Electrical Apprenticeship Programme is offered through the Distribution Division, within the Maintenance and Operations Department of the GEMMA Cluster.

The programme runs for three years and combines formal, institutionalised training with practical workplace learning. Apprentices will be exposed to electrical maintenance and operational activities while developing the competencies required in the electricity distribution environment.

The training programme is intended to help participants build a foundation in electrical trade work and prepare them for the relevant trade assessment. The opportunity may be particularly valuable to candidates seeking structured technical training and a pathway into the energy industry.

Eskom is offering five positions, making this a recruitment opportunity for candidates who satisfy the specified academic requirements.
