About the Role Johnson Matthey is hiring Electrical and Multi-Skilled Technicians to join our PGMS business at Royston, UK and Enfield, North London. The role focuses on electrical and instrumentation maintenance to drive site reliability, safety and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Use technical drawings, operator manuals, electrical schematics and P&IDs to diagnose faults and support maintenance.
- Reduce plant downtime by proposing and implementing improvements in electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Improve site performance through reliable equipment maintenance, accurate records in SAP CMMS, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with compliance and technical authors to review maintenance documents and procedures.
- Conduct inspections, testing, calibration, adjustments and monitoring to maintain efficient plant operation and equipment reliability.
What We're Looking For
- An industrial Electrical and Instrumentation-based qualification to HNC/ONC level or equivalent.
- Time-served Apprenticeship with a further ~5 years' experience.
- Previous Manufacturing/Chemical industry experience.
- Experience of structured problem-solving techniques and fault diagnosis.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: £45,589 for the Multi Skilled Technician role.
- Electrical Engineer (24/7 shifts): £44,113 base + 35% shift allowance + lunch allowance = ~£60,345 total.
- Instrument Technician (24/7 shifts): £43,765 base + 35% shift allowance + lunch allowance = ~£59,875 total.
