EHS Project Lead

About the Role GE HealthCare AS seeks a structured, goal-oriented EHS Project Lead for a permanent role in the PMO. The EHS Lead has overall responsibility for health, environment and safety (HMS) in assigned pharmaceutical production projects, ensuring activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal standards and best practice. The role will own the HMS discipline, drive improvements in how projects incorporate HMS, and develop documentation to ensure effective implementation across the project organization and contractors. The position reports to the head of the PMO. What You'll Do

• Owns HMS discipline in projects and acts as the primary contact for all HMS-related questions.
• Ensure HMS is integrated in all project phases (design, construction, commissioning and handover).
• Actively participate in design reviews and risk assessments with a focus on built-in safety (safety by design).
• Bear client responsibilities under the Byggherreforskriften and SHA planning; establish, maintain and follow SHA plans in projects.
• Coordinate between contractors and prevent risky work operations.
• Ensure compliance with pre-notification requirements, risk considerations and special measures.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with relevant HMS legislation (e.g., Arbeidsmiljøloven, Internkontrollforskriften, Byggherreforskriften, electrical safety, machine safety and chemical handling incl. ATEX) and GMP-related HMS requirements where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with GE HealthCare's EHS Management System and global standards.
• Monitor audits, inspections and authorities' requirements related to projects.
• Develop and maintain HMS- and SHA-related documentation in projects and produce quality-assured HMS documentation (e.g., safety plans, risk assessments and related documents). What We're Looking For
• Strong HMS domain knowledge with experience in project-based environments, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Ability to integrate HMS across design, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Experience in design reviews and risk assessments, with emphasis on safety by design.
• Familiarity with builder's regulations (Byggherreforskriften), SHA planning, contractor coordination and risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of Arbeidsmiljøloven, Internkontrollforskriften, Byggherreforskriften, and safety requirements for electrical, machine, chemical handling (incl. ATEX), and GMP-related HMS requirements.
• Familiarity with GE HealthCare's EHS Management System and global standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
