A Snapshot of Your Day

Join Siemens Energy as an EHS Manager in Projeccts (EHSMiP) and support projects across the full project management life cycle, from tender input and EHS planning to site execution, reporting, and continuous improvement. You will help keep utility construction, electrical transmission and distribution, and high-voltage project work aligned with internal and external EHS requirements. You will develop the EHS plan, drive its implementation, and support Project Managers and Site Managers with clear guidance, risk controls, and practical site support. When work is unsafe or does not meet requirements, you will have the authority to stop work, intervene, and escalate to protect people and the project.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will identify applicable EHS requirements, including IEEE NESC, NFPA 70E, 29 CFR 1926 Subpart V, and 29 CFR 1910.269.
  • You will perform risk assessments, define mitigation measures, develop the EHS plan, and create the emergency management concept.
  • You will support the Project Manager with EHS tender input, EHS budgets, project risks, contract requirements, permits, authorizations, and certificates.
  • You will implement training and qualification programs for qualified and unqualified electrical workers, utility construction personnel, contractors, and site leadership.
  • You will review contractor safe work method statements, job hazard analyses, switching and energization plans, and risk assessments for electrical and utility safety alignment.
  • You will conduct site inspections, report EHS performance, investigate incidents, monitor corrective actions, assess contractor performance, and escalate non-compliance when needed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or a closely related discipline preferred. Equivalent relevant safety experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) certification preferred. Candidates without either certification must be willing and able to obtain an applicable certification within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Working knowledge and practical application of IEEE National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), NFPA 70E, 29 CFR 1926 Subpart V, and 29 CFR 1910.269 requirements.
  • Experience supporting utility construction, electrical transmission and distribution, substations, high-voltage equipment, and contractor safety management.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 70% based on project and site requirements.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team

You will support the business throughout the project management life cycle for utility construction, electrical transmission and distribution, and high-voltage project activities. You will work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers during planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement. You will also partner with project procurement managers by providing EHS-related requirements for contractor selection and sharing contractor EHS performance feedback. During execution, you will liaise with customer and contractor EHS representatives on onsite EHS topics in alignment with the Project Manager. Together, these project partners help ensure operational transparency, strong risk controls, and compliance with legal, business, customer, and internal EHS requirements.
