About the Role
Light-it is seeking an EHR Migration Consultant to help healthcare organizations plan, design, and execute end-to-end migrations focused on clinical meaning, workflows, and long-term trust. The role involves working across planning, extraction, cleansing, mapping, testing, go-live, and stabilization to ensure semantic continuity and operational readiness.
What You'll Do
- Lead Planning, Discovery & Assessment to define scope, timeline, budget, and governance, inventory legacy data, and distinguish active vs archival records.
- Oversee Data Extraction from legacy systems in secure, PHI-protective environments.
- Manage Cleansing, Mapping & Transformation to HL7/FHIR, preserving semantic integrity of clinical relationships.
- Conduct Testing & Validation including staging migrations, technical QA, and UAT with clinical plausibility checks.
- Drive Execution & Go-Live with phased migrations and ensure primary identifiers migrate first.
- Support Post-Migration Stabilization & Governance with data quality KPIs, change controls, and semantic monitoring.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with healthcare data migrations and EHR system knowledge.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows, documentation, reporting, and revenue cycle impacts.
- Proficiency in HL7 and FHIR, data cleansing, mapping, and semantic fidelity.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams including clinicians, IT, compliance, and vendors.
- Knowledge of PHI protection, secure data handling, and audit defensibility.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with third-party integrations (CRMs, billing systems) and mapping across multiple systems.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and post-go-live support processes.
