EH&S Coordinator

Job Purpose This position assists the Environmental Health and Safety Manager with managing the overall environmental, health and safety for the entire plant. This includes everything related to health, safety, wellness, environmental, ergonomics, contractors and plant security.
Job Duties and Responsibilities This role promotes the Dana safety culture of excellence through leading by example, coaching, and mentoring. It assists in the development and management of Dana Safety and Environmental Programs (LOTO, forklift training / licensing, crane operation, ergonomics, job safety risk assessments (JSRA), working at heights, COVID protocols, waste management, air permit compliance, storm water, spill prevention, etc.). It facilitates new-hire safety orientation and new-hire/renewal safety and environmental training. It acts as an ISO 14001/ ISO 45001 /OHSAS 18001/IATF16949 Internal Auditor to support Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems and Quality Management Systems (QMS). It manages metrics and assists in leading the Safety Committee and promoting engagement and participation. It issues lock out tags and maintains all associated records. It manages the PPE program including enrollments, terminations and changes. It participates in near miss and accident/injury investigations, conducts root cause analysis, leads group problem solving meetings and implements temporary and/or permanent corrective actions. It serves as the second point of contact for safety incidents. It assists in development and data collection/trending of Safety First audits and near miss proactive safety programs. It collects incident rate data and environmental metrics/environmental recordkeeping. It assists with the development of daily/monthly safety and environmental messages. It coordinates all chemical and any hazardous waste disposal. It ensures DOT and RCRA compliance for receivable shipment of hazardous materials and waste. It manages the contractor/visitor safety program. It evaluates the safety of new equipment per Dana guidelines. It assists the EHS Manager with any other assignments, projects or responsibilities as needed.
Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Safety and/or Environmental is preferred. Will consider equivalent experience, which would typically come with 3+ years of experience.
Certifications Preferred: SWPPP OSHA 30 Hour Certification
