How can you make a difference?
Young people aged 16–30 make up 27% of Rwanda's 13.2 million people and are central to its development. Many still find it hard to move from learning to earning because of skills mismatches, limited work experience and poor access to labour market opportunities, especially young women and vulnerable youth. In line with Vision 2050 and NST2, the Government is investing in skills, entrepreneurship, innovation and job creation. UNICEF supports this with MoYA and MIFOTRA through Generation Unlimited, including the Ingazi (Passport to Earning) platform. The programme has reached more than 142,000 young people. Of these, 56,446 (40% female) completed at least one learning pathway, with an average assessment score of 83%. The next phase focuses on pathways to employment and self-employment, so UNICEF needs dedicated technical capacity to scale up youth employment results.
