Bay Area Hospital is hiring an ED Tech (Emergency Dept Technician) for a full-time position in its Emergency Department (72 hours per pay period, varied 12-hour shifts), paying $21.38-$31.73/hr. The technician performs direct patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, within scope of practice.
Duties include monitoring and documenting vital signs and notifying the RN/physician of changes; preparing wounds for suturing and applying dressings as directed; measuring and applying OrthoGlass splints per reference manual; starting IVs and obtaining blood work as directed by an RN or ED provider; performing phlebotomy tasks and waived point-of-care testing as ordered; performing 12-lead EKGs; transporting patients to assigned units; assisting patients at discharge (whether admitted or released); keeping the department neat and stocked, including cleaning…
