Economic Opportunities Advisory Consultant

About the Role The Economic Opportunities Advisory Consultant will drive the implementation and evolution of IDB Invest's MSME and Poverty Alleviation Roadmaps through high-impact advisory interventions that originate and enhance private sector operations. This role partners with private-sector clients and investment teams to expand inclusive opportunities and advance sustainable growth in Latin America and the Caribbean. What You'll Do

• Identify and scope new advisory opportunities that add value to IDB Invest’s clients and portfolio, in close collaboration with industry and regional teams.
• Lead or support the structuring of advisory engagements, including client proposals, concept notes, and implementation proposals.
• Advise clients and internal teams on integrating inclusive business models into investment operations.
• Manage relationships with clients and implementation partners, ensuring effective communication, timely delivery, and quality control.
• Lead or contribute to the design and facilitation of workshops, training, and capacity-building sessions with staff and with clients to foster the adoption of inclusive and sustainable practices.
• Conduct social analyses to identify risks, opportunities, and potential for business and impact value creation.
• Develop or improve tools that facilitate social analysis processes. What We're Looking For
• Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, International Development Studies, Economics, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
• Experience: Between 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in advisory, private sector development, financial institutions, consulting, or related fields, with knowledge of inclusive business models, MSME financing, or social impact preferred.
• Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
• Citizenship: Must be eligible to work in job locations without the need for sponsorship.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab. Nice to Have
