About the Role Responsible for performing ultrasound procedures including abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, vascular studies (arterial & venous), and echocardiography under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Manager. This PRN/part-time role may require on-call availability to support patient care and department coverage. What You'll Do
- Perform general diagnostic ultrasound and vascular exams and assist physicians with specialty exams.
- Select appropriate equipment and settings for each exam according to specifications.
- Explain tests to patients and guide them in positioning; obtain informed consent.
- Enter patient data into ultrasound equipment and maintain records; ensure data flows to PACS.
- Produce diagnostic images and data, assess changes in condition, and discuss findings with Radiologist; report to referring physicians as requested.
- Maintain accurate patient logs, promote infection control and safety measures, and keep exam rooms and equipment clean.
- Assist with scheduling in- and out-patient examinations and provide patient preparation instructions.
- Enter charges in the system and transmit them to the business office; maintain department logs.
- Communicate with supervisors, maintain patient privacy and dignity, and adhere to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Rotate on-call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed; adhere to attendance expectations.
- Provide courteous service to patients and coordinate with the radiology team to prepare patients for procedures.
- Comply with department goals and support other departments as needed. What We're Looking For
- Current ARDMS Registration (multiple modalities)
- Knowledge of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire
- Two years of experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter with critical thinking; able to prioritize and work independently or in a team
- Commitment to teamwork and maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn additional software Compensation & Benefits
