About the Role Gibson Dunn is seeking an eBilling Supervisor to lead the eBilling and Billing Team in a fast-paced environment and help ensure accuracy, timely submissions, and effective client communications. This role supports multiple offices including Los Angeles, Century City, Orange County, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Dallas, New York, and Washington, D.C.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of eight to nine direct reports; set performance goals and deadlines aligned with the Billing Department’s plans.
  • Organize workflows, monitor productivity, and provide feedback and training as needed.
  • Enhance the eBilling system to track and resolve ongoing issues such as invoice rejections and resubmissions; communicate updates to management daily.
  • Develop solutions to address rejection trends and ensure corrective actions to prevent future reductions and rejections.
  • Track resubmission deadlines across key corporate clients; coordinate with billing specialists to resolve reductions promptly; raise concerns with Supervisors and Regional Managers.
  • Demonstrate understanding of client guidelines and contractual billing to inform appeals; perform background research for submissions.
  • Liaise with Client Accounts (Collections), billing specialists, and client representatives throughout submissions and appeals; provide expert-level support.
  • Master functionality and submission requirements for major eBilling sites (LegalTracker, CounselLink, TyMetrix360, Collaborati, Passport, CounselGO, BillingPoint, Corridor).
  • Utilize Excel to pull reports, create spreadsheets, manipulate LEDES files (LEDES1998, LEDES98BI, LEDES98BI V2, XML), and troubleshoot submission issues.
  • Collaborate with the eBilling Supervisor and team on processes, schedules, and workloads; handle special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of five years of legal e-billing experience; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Strong technology skills (MS Office) and ability to leverage technology in work processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, outstanding attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure; effective communication with all levels.
  • Ability to manage competing requests, prioritize to firm and client deadlines, and be available to work overtime as needed; able to handle year-end increased workload (September–December).
  • Experience with eBillingHub or BillBlast preferred; experience with Aderant is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with LEDES formats and submission processes; familiarity with major eBilling sites and ability to analyze rejection trends and implement corrective actions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $125,000–$140,000 per year. Benefits include health care, retirement benefits, paid time off (sick and vacation), parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and discretionary performance-based bonuses.
