Job title: Early Development Lead Medical Director, Oncology

About the Role The Early Development Lead Medical Director, Oncology at Roche China ED CoE leads and drives early development programs in oncology/hematology, shaping global CDP and collaborating with global teams to accelerate transformative medicines for patients.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to and influence global asset strategy and early development CDP as a member of the global asset teams.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to accelerate and optimize global ED CDP leveraging China’s expertise, speed, and scale.
  • Lead the China cross-functional team to evaluate opportunities for China joining global ED programs or China-first trials from strategic, scientific, regulatory, and operational perspectives.
  • Drive innovative trial design and trial conduct in close partnership with global early development functional experts on China-first clinical trials.
  • Be the Medical Monitor for China ED clinical trials.
  • Scientifically engage China TAEs and Roche internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as scientific point of contact to global early development asset teams of oncology/hematology.
  • Mentor junior medical directors to build capability and capacity of the ED CoE.

What We're Looking For

  • MD in oncology/hematology, or Bachelor/Master of Clinical Medicine with at least 3 years of post-graduation clinical practice in oncology/hematology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical industry with extensive early development experience in oncology/hematology.
  • Hands-on experience in developing early development CDP, designing and running early development clinical trials, interacting with Health Authorities, collaborating with investigators and clinical research.
  • Very good understanding of oncology/hematology global development guidelines and regulations, including CDE, FDA and EMEA.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with ability to present complex concepts to global cross-functional teams, governance committees and key stakeholders in a logical and succinct manner.
  • Great team player; highly collaborative, good interpersonal and influencing skills, able to influence without authority.
