Job title: Early Development Lead Medical Director, Non-oncology

About the Role You will lead and drive early development programs in immunology, neurology, CVRM, and ophthalmology within Roche China’s ED CoE. This role participates in shaping global early development strategy and trial design, and acts as Medical Monitor for China ED trials to accelerate global programs.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to and influence global asset strategy and early development CDP as a member of the global asset teams.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to accelerate and optimize global ED CDP leveraging China's expertise, speed, and scale.
  • Lead the China cross-functional team to evaluate opportunities for China joining global ED programs or China-first trials from strategic, scientific, regulatory, and operational perspectives.
  • Drive innovative trial design and trial conduct in close partnership with global early development experts on China-first clinical trials.
  • Serve as Medical Monitor for China ED clinical trials.
  • Scientifically engage China TAEs, Roche internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a scientific contact to global early development asset teams in non-oncology areas (immunology, neurology, CVRM, ophthalmology).
  • Mentor junior medical directors to develop capability and capacity of the ED CoE.

What We're Looking For

  • Medical degree (MD) or Bachelor/Master of Clinical Medicine with at least 3 years of post-graduate clinical practice; immunology clinical expertise preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical industry with substantial early development experience; immunology experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience developing early development CDP, designing and running early development clinical trials, interacting with Health Authorities, collaborating with investigators and sites, and interpreting trial data.
  • Strong knowledge of global development guidelines and regulations (CDE, FDA, EMEA).
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication; ability to present complex concepts to global cross-functional teams and governance committees.
  • Effective team player with collaboration, interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to influence without authority.

Nice to Have

  • Clinical practice experience in immunology (preferred).
  • Experience in Roche China ED CoE or China development ecosystem (preferred).
  • Experience working with Health Authorities and global asset teams.
