About this role
About the Role Drive a heavy duty diesel powered dump truck used in hauling materials on Ferrovial/Webber construction projects. You will transport dirt, rock, aggregates, non-agitated concrete or other materials and support safety and efficient site operations. What You'll Do
- Start and operate the truck by starting the engine, controlling throttles, switches, and pedals.
- Haul dirt, rock, aggregates, non-agitated concrete, or other materials on site.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
- May service and make necessary adjustments for proper operation of equipment.
- Make necessary adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Education: Less than a High School Diploma with related construction experience.
- Licenses: CDL Drivers License.
- Language: Ability to read a limited number of words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Experience: Related construction experience preferred.
- Working conditions: Outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions; physically demanding. Nice to Have
