About the Role The Driver will safely transport Wright State University students, employees and visitors under general supervision, supporting campus operations by operating university vehicles and ensuring safe, timely transportation.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate university vehicles to transport students, employees and visitors on campus as needed.
- Perform routine care and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.
- Comply with Department of Transportation requirements, including pre-employment physical examinations, annual physicals, and random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and return-to-duty drug and alcohol testing.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and, when required, a valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger Endorsement.
- Adhere to university policies and safety standards while performing duties.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of full-time bus driving or equivalent vehicle experience.
- Minimum six months experience in routine care and maintenance of vehicles, or three months training/education in auto maintenance or auto mechanics.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend common vocabulary.
- Must currently possess a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least one year.
- A valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (Type A or B) with Passenger Endorsement.
- Willingness to undergo DOT physical examinations and DOT drug and alcohol testing as required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Minimum hourly rate: $18.94/hr.
- Position is 75% FTE (part-time).
