Driver Transport

About the Role

The Driver Transport role is responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer within city, state, job sites and company property, as well as the safe and efficient loading and unloading of product. This role supports customer satisfaction and adheres to DOT and company safety standards.

What You'll Do

• Safely drive truck to and from destination applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads
• Check loads to ensure product is hauled in a safe and appropriate manner
• Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving the plant to ensure delivery to the correct customer and site
• Strive to meet customer expectations and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction survey results
• Develop working relationships with customers, both external and internal
• Keep equipment clean using approved cleaning materials and supplies
• Maintain personal appearance in neat and clean manner
• Maintain contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructions
• Assist other company employees as needed
• Complete pre and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies
• May perform roadside repairs (e.g., replacing light bulbs)
• Maintain good working knowledge of city traffic routes
• Take orders and guidance from supervisors; promote a team concept
• Adhere to CEMEX, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned
• What We're Looking For
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a CDL Driver
• MVR: No DUI/DWI in last 5 years
• Acceptable CSA score: no more than 3 moving violations in previous 7 years
• Be able to read, write, and speak English
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Able to use a variety of technology
• Must pass DOT physical including hearing test and drug/alcohol screen
• Willing to work outdoors in varied weather and heavy work conditions
