About the Role The Driver is responsible for transporting and collecting hazardous goods and industrial equipment in a safe and timely manner. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and applicable laws.
What You'll Do
- Deliver and collect goods and industrial equipment to sites
- Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders or covers as appropriate
- Follow safety procedures during loading, transport, and off-loading
- Perform safety checks on vehicle and load prior to delivery; maintain mechanical safety and emergency equipment
- Obtain signatures and receipts, and ensure proper documentation is delivered to the correct person
- Verify load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Communicate promptly with transport coordinator/controller
- Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service/repair status
- Operate allocated vehicle in compliance with traffic laws and regulations; drive within set speed
- Report incidents, accidents, vehicle defects, traffic violations or any damage
- Adhere to company policies and legal requirements in case of incidents; ensure vehicle cleanliness
- Ensure OHSACT requirements are met
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Requirements: Code 10 Driver's Licence
- Forklift Licence
- Hazchem Certificate
- 1-3 years of experience as a Hazchem driver
