About the Role The Driver Manager leads a team of drivers in a defined area, ensuring safety, policy compliance, route efficiency, and strong employee relations. This role combines leadership with transportation/operations expertise to drive performance and ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance. What You'll Do
- Interview, select, train, and manage the driver workforce.
- Provide ongoing feedback to drivers using DriveCam reporting and customer feedback; monitor performance and development.
- Plan coverage, review manpower needs, and manage driver dispatch for route personnel.
- Ensure drivers report to work on time and in uniform; enforce appearance and safety standards.
- Develop drivers through continuous feedback and coaching; address performance gaps.
- Investigate safety concerns and driver feedback; promote safe operational practices.
- Plan future time off and run changes; ensure proper coverage.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and all DOT/FMCSA regulations; credential drivers for commercial operation.
- Collaborate with HR on personnel matters; maintain good labor relations and follow the CBA grievance process.
- Review electronic and paper DOT logs; monitor on-time performance in real time.
- Manage disciplinary actions per policy and terminate when necessary; apply discretion and judgment. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree preferred; 3+ years of operations leadership.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; diplomacy and discretion.
- Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with safety, workers' compensation, labor relations, and CBA experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel emphasis) and Windows applications; strong email skills. Nice to Have
- Experience with union environments and DOT/FMCSA regulatory frameworks.
- Experience using DriveCam and leveraging customer feedback programs. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD 59,000 - 84,000 per year.
