Doctor Call Pharmacy Technician

Location: Remote (Candidates must reside in Texas, Arizona, or Ohio)

Role Overview

This position offers an opportunity to support patients by resolving critical prescription issues to ensure timely access to necessary medications. The successful candidate will manage prescription validation processes and coordinate with healthcare providers, retail pharmacies, and patients. The workload is balanced between managing retail transfers and processing system updates in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact retail pharmacies to facilitate and obtain prescription transfers based on established patient outreach lists.

• Maintain a high volume of outbound calls, meeting the standard of five completed calls per hour.

• Perform prescription resolution tasks, including processing cancellations accurately within the ePostRx system.

• Manage system-based updates, maintaining an administrative processing rate of 42 items per hour.

• Review prescriptions to identify incomplete, invalid, or clinical issues preventing successful fulfillment.

• Communicate professionally with physician offices and hospitals via telephone or fax to resolve outstanding issues.

• Research and update clarifications and denials on patient profiles within defined department parameters.

• Prioritize daily assignments independently while adhering to established quality and productivity expectations.

• Required Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, mail-order, or hospital pharmacy environment, with demonstrated experience handling inbound and outbound phone calls.

• Intermediate computer proficiency, comfortable navigating electronic health records (EHR) and database systems, and the ability to perform accurate calculations.

• Licensure: Active Pharmacy Technician license or registration in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the resident state (Texas, Arizona, or Ohio).

• Remote Work Setup: Access to a dedicated, quiet, and secure home workspace with a direct Ethernet or fiber internet connection (wireless connections are not permitted). Technical equipment will be provided.

• Preferred Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB/CPhT).

• Strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative communication skills in a remote team environment.
