Job title: Donor Relations / Advancement Officer
About the Role The role supports Nelson University’s advancement operations, focusing on donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising execution. It acts as a key operator moving donors through the engagement pipeline, managing personalized cultivation strategies and high-touch relationship coordination to support institutional revenue generation.
What You'll Do
- Significantly discretionary and independent judgment in donor-facing strategy and financial stewardship decisions.
- Serve as a key relationship-centered member of the Advancement Department, creating meaningful, consistent experiences for donors, alumni, and VIP guests.
- Strengthen donor engagement through hospitality, stewardship communications, donor follow-up, and personalized touchpoints aligned with the university’s mission.
- Oversee donor hospitality coordination before, during, and after Advancement interactions and events; serve as primary resource for donor information management and CRM coordination.
- Collaborate with Advancement leadership, fundraisers, alumni partners, and campus departments to ensure donors feel welcomed, appreciated, informed, and connected.
- Support Advancement strategy through accurate donor record management, reporting, meeting prep, stewardship tracking, and fundraising support processes to improve communication and relationship continuity.
- Include weekend and evening responsibilities such as donor dinners and cultivation events tied to fundraising outcomes; participate in events requiring setup, execution, and post-event follow-up.

- Experience with CRM systems or donor databases preferred.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
