About the Role Lead the development and operation of DNS and domain-management capabilities within DNSimple's Domain Control Plane. You’ll unify DNS assets across DNSimple, on-premises systems, and multiple cloud providers to give developers and admins visibility and control over large, complex domain portfolios. This role blends platform engineering with DNS operations and security to enable scalable, secure domain management. What You'll Do
- Own and evolve the Domain Control Plane to manage domains and DNS across registrars and providers (e.g., Amazon Route 53, Azure DNS, CoreDNS, and on-premises DNS).
- Build two-way management capabilities: add, edit, or remove DNS records; register, transfer, or renew domains; manage access and permissions; and request and deploy SSL certificates.
- Provide centralized visibility through a simple, user-friendly dashboard: track registrars, domain registrations and ownership, operational status, DNS zones, and certificate deployments.
- Ensure secure, interoperable connections among DNSimple, on-premises systems, and third-party services.
- Collaborate with product, platform, and security teams to scale support for complex domain portfolios and external hosting.
- Monitor the health and status of domains, certificates, and DNS resources and respond to incidents across environments. What We're Looking For
- Experience building or operating platform-level DNS or domain-management solutions.
- Familiarity with multiple DNS ecosystems (cloud DNS such as Amazon Route 53 and Azure DNS, CoreDNS, and on-prem DNS) and registrar integrations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex DNS requirements into scalable software.
- Experience with security, access control, auditing, and protecting DNS resources in distributed systems.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. Nice to Have
- Experience with SSL certificate deployment/management across DNS providers.
- Experience handling large, multi-provider DNS portfolios or complex domain portfolios.
- Familiarity with observability, dashboards, and reporting for DNS-related systems.
