Job title: Documentation Engineer
About the Role At Alstom in Bangalore, you will be the Documentation Engineer responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality Operation and Maintenance Manuals and related documentation, ensuring adherence to Alstom’s standards and timely delivery. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Project Manager, LSA Manager, ISR Manager, and training subcontractors, to define maintenance documentation plans and manage the central ISR repository.
What You'll Do
- Create and update Operation and Maintenance Manuals
- Define the maintenance documentation plan
- Ensure the quality, cost, and delivery of maintenance documentation projects
- Capitalize data and inputs within the central ISR repository
- Implement processes to deliver high-quality documentation
- Manage the documentation database and ensure accuracy
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, LSA Manager, ISR Manager, and subcontractors involved in training activities
- Adhere to Alstom’s standards and processes
- Manage documentation-related activities and relationships with key stakeholders and partner authors
What We're Looking For
- Engineering University Degree or equivalent (mandatory)
- Specialization in Maintenance Documentation (desirable)
- 8-10 years hands-on experience with Arbor Text Editor, Adobe Illustrator, Isodraw, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe FrameMaker, and CAD tools
- Experience with S1000D standards and simplified technical English
- Knowledge of Product Data Management systems
- Rail domain experience (preferred)
- Ability to work as both author and illustrator
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Proficiency in English; French language skills are an advantage
