About the Role The Disability Manager leads and manages UCSF's disability management portfolio, including reasonable accommodations, disability case management, return-to-work efforts, job reassignment, workers' compensation coordination, and complex leave-of-absence consultation. This role serves as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert on disability and leave-related matters, balancing UCSF's operational needs with the interests of employees while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Disability Manager independently establishes short-term program objectives, contributes to long-term strategic planning, and provides leadership for highly complex and sensitive accommodation and disability cases across the enterprise.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of disability management programs and services.
- Establish short-term program goals and objectives and contribute to long-term strategic planning initiatives.
- Utilize case management metrics and operational data to evaluate program effectiveness, identify resource needs, and support budget and staffing decisions.
What We're Looking For
- Experience leading disability management programs including accommodations, disability case management, return-to-work, job reassignment, workers' compensation coordination, and complex leave-of-absence consultation; capable of serving as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert on disability and leave-related matters.
- Ability to balance operational needs with employee interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to establish short-term objectives, contribute to long-term strategic planning, and lead highly complex and sensitive disability cases across an enterprise.
- Strong data-driven approach using case management metrics and operational data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform budgeting and staffing decisions.
