About the role
TWO (2) POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertaking diving and underwater search and rescue operations.
- Assisting in the recovery of persons, bodies and property from water bodies.
- Responding to drowning and other water-related emergencies.
- Operating and maintaining diving and rescue equipment.
- Participating in water rescue drills and emergency preparedness activities.
- Maintaining records of diving and rescue operations.
- Observing prescribed safety procedures during diving operations.
- Performing any other related duties as assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
- Be a Citizen of Kenya;
- KCSE certificate or its equivalent.
- Possession of a recognized diving certificate.
- Ability to swim and undertake diving operations in running and stationary waters.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in water and emergency situations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Training in water rescue and/or first aid will be an added advantage.
Terms of Service
One (1) year contract on such terms as may be specified in the instrument of appointment.
Remuneration
As guided by the Minimum Wage Guideline by the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection in the Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 160 dated 26th June, 2026.
