About the Role The Distribution Center Assistant performs a variety of distribution center activities including packing, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, stock handling, storing and inventory support. The role focuses on providing high-quality, cost-effective and efficient service to meet current and future demands. The position requires accurate documentation and collaboration with supervisors. What You'll Do
- Fulfills orders from stored inventory meeting customer requirements and inspection/testing processes.
- Ships orders within time commitments and completes all documentation.
- Communicates with lead/supervisor regarding any fulfillment issues or problems.
- Receives, unpacks, and inspects incoming materials and product, and verifies against written orders. Returns defective materials.
- Ensures documentation such as packing lists, shipping labels, and other documents are complete, accurate and processed appropriately.
- Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.
- Maintains and updates systems as required.
- Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Typically requires a minimum of two years of related experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Able to perform semi-routine functions and recognize the need for occasional alternative solutions; work independently with minimal supervision, and establish priorities.
- Collaboration with other departments or teams may be required; may frequently respond to requests from others, internally or externally.
- Distinguishing characteristics: standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 50 pounds; forklift certification may be required; visual acuity standards for final inspections; ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, twist and work at heights exceeding 15 feet. Nice to Have
