About the Role The Dispensary Manager will oversee the dispensary at the The Crescent store, ensure the provision of pharmaceutical care, manage self-medication areas, and supervise staff to meet patients' related needs. What You'll Do
- Ensure dispensary and self-medication areas are adequately staffed and staff work within their scope of practice.
- Ensure Good Pharmacy Practice rules and regulations are adhered to by staff.
- Manage stock to prevent expired/short-dated stock, dispose of expired stock, investigate negative stock daily, and follow stock ordering processes to maximize purchasing compliance.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure Schedule 6 medication is securely stored with a balanced register.
- Keep SAPC registration and annual fees up to date; accurately interpret scripts and verify patient details.
- Ensure accurate picking/packing/labeling and checking of medication; provide patient instructions and counsel on proper use.
- Keep abreast of medical aid procedures and process claims; assist with authorisation of chronic, HIV, oncology meds where relevant.
- Maintain customer profiles, merge profiles when required, and respond to messages on customer profiles.
- Ensure the Dispensary Admin Assistant is trained and controls the bulk of dispensary admin tasks.
- Monitor stock take preparation and participate in stock takes as required. What We're Looking For
- Essential: Grade 12 / Matric; BPharm or equivalent; Registered with SAPC; Registered tutor; Unisolv experience; staff supervision experience; MS Office; strong numerical skills; excellent English and a second language; willingness to work retail hours.
- Advantageous: Previous management experience of at least 7 staff; relevant retail/FMCG experience; third additional language; SAP experience; E-scripting experience; knowledge of Unisolv, SAP and E-Scripting.
