We are looking for a dependable Dispatcher to support daily delivery coordination for a Contract position based in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will help keep warehouse and transportation activities running smoothly by organizing package flow, assigning drivers, and maintaining visibility across active deliveries. This opportunity is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, communicates clearly, and can balance multiple priorities while keeping service levels on track.

Responsibilities

• Organize morning dispatch activities by preparing outbound volume, grouping parcels, and setting up efficient daily driver assignments.

• Process packages through scanning, tagging, and sorting steps to ensure each shipment is accurately prepared for delivery.

• Oversee active routes throughout the day and make adjustments that improve efficiency and support on-time service.

• Maintain delivery zone and geofence accuracy so route activity and shipment tracking remain reliable.

• Investigate and resolve shipment exceptions quickly, including missing items, failed drop-offs, and deliveries requiring age verification.

• Track package movement and status updates across the network to provide timely operational visibility.

• Coordinate schedules for independent contractor drivers and confirm adequate coverage for planned delivery volume.

• Monitor real-time chat communication channels and respond to operational questions or issues as they arise.

• Review proof-of-delivery photos to verify completion standards and identify discrepancies requiring follow-up.

• Previous experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.

• Working knowledge of route planning, shipment tracking, and driver scheduling.

• Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to manage issues professionally and efficiently.

• Comfort using dispatch platforms, computer-based tracking tools, and live messaging systems.

• Ability to stay organized and accurate while handling multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced setting.

• Experience supporting delivery teams, warehouse operations, or last-mile logistics is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions during daily operational disruptions.
