Job title: Discovery Shop staff
About the Role Part-time Discovery Shop staff role supporting most aspects of daily shop operations at our Columbus location, with extended weekly hours. Weekend availability is required to support the shop's busy environment. This role emphasizes customer service, donation processing, and merchandising to advance the American Cancer Society's mission.
What You'll Do
- Greet and assist customers; manage merchandise sales, cashiering, bagging, and carry-out to customers' vehicles.
- Service donors: receive donations, assist with bring-in from donor vehicle, place donations in designated areas, provide donation receipts and processing receipts.
- Support volunteers through internal operational tasks.
- Open and close the store, including cash register drawer counts and end-of-day income reporting.
- Maintain appearance of the sales floor (dressing room cleanout, dusting, vacuuming, straightening racks and fixtures, refreshing displays).
- Process donations: sorting, steaming, pricing, and placing merchandise on the sales floor.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Retail experience with customers, sales, cashiering, and merchandising.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
- Comfortable with multi-tasking; team player willing to do what is necessary to get the job done.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including occasional lifting up to 40 pounds and ability to walk, stand, and perform repetitive tasks as needed.
