Job Title: Disc Jockey (DJ) Location: Gwarimpa, Abuja (FCT) Employment Type: Full-time, shift-based (evenings, weekends, public holidays, and special events) Reports to: General Manager

Core Purpose

• Curate and control the music and atmosphere across the restaurant, lounge and open-air space.
• Deliver smooth, well-paced sets that move from relaxed dinner vibes to high-energy nights, while building the distinctive sound identity of Cedar Grillz.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform professional sets across Afrobeats, Amapiano, hip-hop, R&B, Highlife, Afro-fusion, dancehall, house and throwbacks.
• Design the music flow of each evening and continuously read/adapt to the crowd.
• Plan themed nights, guest DJ sets and special event soundtracks.
• Coordinate music cues with the floor, bar, games and management teams.
• Maintain a strong, organised and legally sourced music library.
• Set up, operate and care for the DJ booth, sound system and lighting.
• Create short mixes and content for social media in coordination with Marketing.
• Manage sound levels responsibly and uphold professional conduct.

Requirements

• Minimum: SSCE/WAEC/NECO with credit in English.

• Preferred: OND/HND or Degree in Music, Performing Arts, Mass Communication or Entertainment Management.

• 3–5 years of professional DJ experience in clubs, lounges, restaurants or events.

• Strong mixing skills on Serato, Rekordbox, Traktor or equivalent.

• Proven ability to read a crowd and manage energy across a full evening.

• Portfolio of recorded mixes, live-set videos and references required.

• Minimum age: 21.

• Stylish, brand-aligned presentation required as a public face of the venue.

• Late-night, high-energy environment with loud music.
