Job title: Director, Supply Chain Master Data Management

About the Role Gilead is seeking a Director, Supply Chain Master Data Management to lead a team of Supply Chain Data Professionals within the Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing (PDM) organization. You will govern and steward Materials and Planning data objects, drive global data strategy and standards, and partner across functions to enable agile, reliable supply chains and uninterrupted manufacturing.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of Supply Chain Data Professionals responsible for governance and stewardship of Materials and Planning data within PDM.
  • Align workflows and support manufacturing and planning teams; work with Global Process leads on data standards development.
  • Develop a Global Supply Chain data strategy, roadmap, policies, procedures and an operational framework to meet organizational and regulatory priorities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Clinical and PDM functions including Regulatory Affairs, Laboratory Information Systems, and QA.
  • Ensure roadmap and activities align to PDM vision and strategy; use data as a lever to align value chain processes and performance around a common dataset to enable agile supply chains.
  • Lead the function for high performance; establish clear responsibilities and a development path for each role.
  • Ensure continuous development and optimization of data governance practices for consistent, secure, and synchronized data availability across business functions per enterprise and regulatory policies.
  • Optimize data acquisition, management, and sharing to decrease costs while increasing data value.
  • Right-size department resourcing; manage external partners; prepare budgets and model required resourcing.
  • Design, recruit, staff and lead an organization that designs, develops and executes PDM data standards for materials and network planning.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement across end-to-end Supply Chain and harmonize data standards; partner with data owners to maximize SAP capabilities.
  • Lead large programs with milestones, partner with extended teams, and hold the enterprise accountable for program delivery.
  • Establish SOPs and implement PDCA, following the Quality Management System; define SLAs for data services and ensure timely delivery.
  • Advocate Master Data Governance across PDM and influence organizational design for teams impacted by MDM/PLM workflows.

What We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in related field with a BS or BA; or 10+ years with MA/MBA.
  • Experience managing planning, development, implementation, administration and budgeting of production planning, purchasing, material control, inventory control and shipping/receiving functions.
  • Proven ability to design, develop and execute data standards for materials and network planning; strong emphasis on SAP and data governance.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large programs, cross-functional collaboration, vendor management, and budget planning.
  • Ability to develop complex concepts and standards; strong problem solving, ingenuity, and innovation.
  • Good understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations; ability to interpret policies and adapt department policies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence across functions.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Governance, MDM/PLM workflows, PDCA, SOPs and Quality Management Systems.
